How to Get More Facebook Followers on a Profile or Page

On Facebook, friends and followers are different. Friends are mutual; followers see your public posts without you seeing theirs. Pages have followers only. Both kinds of account can grow followers the same way: by giving strangers public posts worth following.

Turn on the follow option for your profile

Check your privacy settings and allow everyone to follow you, and set the posts you want strangers to see to Public. Without that, nobody outside your friends list can follow.

1. Post Reels

Facebook recommends Reels to people who do not follow you. Short, useful or funny Reels are the main way new people find a profile or Page.

2. Be useful in groups

Answering questions in groups about your topic gets people clicking through to your profile or Page. Follow each group's rules on self-promotion.

3. Post consistently, publicly

A Page or profile that posts several times a week gives new visitors a reason to follow. Old, sparse timelines do not.

4. Cross-post from Instagram

If you run both, sharing Instagram posts and Reels to Facebook gives your Facebook audience content with little extra effort.

5. Invite people who engage

On a Page, you can invite people who reacted to your posts to follow it. Many accept, because they already liked something you made.

6. Go live

Facebook notifies followers when you go live, and live videos often keep circulating afterwards.

7. Link from everywhere

Your website, email signature and other social profiles can all point to the Page.

Paid followers

Some Pages add followers so a new Page does not look empty. It breaks Meta's terms and the followers do not engage. If you consider it, the Facebook followers page explains the services. For business Pages specifically, read how to get more followers on a Facebook business page.
