How to Get More Followers on X (Twitter)
On X, most new followers find you through other people's posts: a reply that made them laugh, a quote post that added something, a thread someone reposted. Growing there is less about your own timeline and more about showing up well in everyone else's.
1. Write a bio that answers why follow
Say what you post about and who it is for in one line. Pin your best post so visitors see proof straight away.
2. Reply early to bigger accounts in your niche
Replies under popular posts are read by that account's audience. A useful or funny reply in the first few minutes is one of the most reliable ways to pick up followers.
3. Post threads that teach
A thread that explains something step by step gets bookmarked and reposted. Make the first post stand on its own; it is all most people see.
4. Quote post with something to add
A quote post that adds a fact, a counterpoint or an example puts you in front of both audiences.
5. Post every day, in your topic
X moves fast. Several posts a day in one subject keeps you visible to people who just followed and gives the algorithm more to work with.
6. Use images and short video
Posts with a chart, screenshot or short clip stand out in a text-heavy timeline.
7. Do not chase follow-backs
X limits how many accounts you can follow per day, and mass following then unfollowing is treated as spam. Follow people whose posts you want to read.
Where paid followers fit
A new account with very few followers can look like a bot itself. Some people add a starting number so their replies are taken seriously. It breaks X's rules, and bought followers do not read your posts. Our guide on how to buy followers on Twitter covers the process and the risk; the X followers page lists the services.
